Torchlight is een game die exclusief digitaal verkrijgbaar is. De gameplay doet het meeste denken aan Diablo. Torchlight is een groot succes.
Vandaag heeft ontwikkelaar Runic Games Torchlight 2 aangekondigd. De nieuwe Torchlight zal als grote nieuwe feature multiplayer hebben. Naast multiplayer is er een betere user interface en vallen personages compleet te customizen.
Eerst was het de bedoeling dat er een MMO van Torchlight zou verschijnen. Dit idee staat nog steeds in de planning. De ontwikkeling van de MMO wordt voortgezet na de ontwikkeling van Torchlight 2. De game zal maart 2011 verschijnen.
The most exciting new feature of Torchlight II is the multiplayer element. Play with your friends, and use the free peer-to-peer matchmaking service to meet new players of a similar level and interest. Together players will discover expansive randomized outdoor areas and deep ominous caverns; random instanced and persistent dungeons, a huge variety of all new monsters and villains, endless variations of loot to find, and quests to complete. Players journey through the perilous Overworld, enjoying all new weather features, time of day events, and a rich and cunning story to drive gameplay.
