Square Enix heeft bekendgemaakt dat Deus Ex: Mankind Divided met zes maanden is uitgesteld. De game zou eerst op 23 februari 2016 moeten verschijnen voor de pc, PlayStation 4 en Xbox One, maar dit is nu 23 augustus 2016 geworden.
David Anfossi, de baas van ontwikkelaar Eidos Montreal, laat weten dat het team het extra half jaar goed kan gebruiken voor de post-production en om de game te polijsten. Het team wil de huidige kwaliteit van de game behouden en dit kan alleen door er extra ontwikkelingstijd in te stoppen.

However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards.We are sorry to disappoint you with this news, and also thank you for all of your support and comments. This game is a huge part of our lives, and we don't want to compromise on its quality. It's a huge responsibility to work on Deus Ex Mankind Divided - we know, but also a huge privilege. We're determined to deliver the best game we can.
